OM SYSTEM Sponsors Young BPOTY 12
We are delighted to announce that OM SYSTEM is the official sponsor of Young Bird Photographer of the Year 12! With a passion for innovation and a commitment to helping photographers capture the natural world, OM SYSTEM is a leading photography equipment brand, and we are excited to have them on board for this year’s Young BPOTY competition.
OM SYSTEM: Inspiring the next generation of bird photographers
A familiar garden visitor. A fleeting encounter on a coastal walk. The extraordinary detail of a bird in flight. At OM SYSTEM, we believe photography begins with curiosity - and the desire to discover more of the natural world.
Building on the photographic heritage of Olympus, we create compact, lightweight cameras and lenses that give photographers the freedom to explore. For bird photographers, that means powerful telephoto reach with less weight to carry, more flexibility to shoot handheld, and more energy to stay out observing the birds.
Our technology helps photographers respond when the moment arrives. Features such as intelligent Bird Detection AF, Pro Capture and advanced image stabilization, available on selected cameras, help capture behavior that can unfold in an instant. Weather-sealed camera and lens combinations provide added confidence in changing outdoor conditions.
We are proud to support Young Bird Photographer of the Year as part of BPOTY 12. By encouraging young photographers to explore, observe and share their perspectives, we hope to nurture both creative talent and a lasting connection with nature.
Because discovering birds through a camera can be the beginning of a lifelong passion.
OM SYSTEM for Bird Photography
The best bird photographs rarely happen next to the car park. They happen miles from the nearest road, in changing weather and in the blink of an eye.
That's exactly where OM SYSTEM excels.
With the OM-1 Mark II camera’s intelligent Bird Detection AF, up to 120 fps shooting and industry-leading image stabilisation work together to capture decisive moments with confidence. Add ultra-portable super-telephoto lenses like the 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO, 300mm F4 IS PRO and 100-400mm F5.0-6.3 IS II, and you have a system designed for bird photographers who would rather follow the action than carry unnecessary weight.
